Milkshake Mixers

Commercial Milkshake & Drink Mixers in Toronto & Canada

Malts, milkshakes, and mixed drinks move faster with a dedicated spindle mixer instead of tying up a blender, and our Milkshake Mixers collection covers single, double, and triple-spindle models built for exactly that job. Choose a compact single-spindle mixer for a small counter or ice cream window, a wall-mounted model to save counter space entirely, or a double or triple-spindle unit to mix several drinks at once during a rush. Most of our lineup comes from Hamilton Beach, including a wall-mounted space-saving model and a heavy-duty variable-speed MixStation, alongside Waring's WDM series with single, double, and triple-spindle options, a built-in timer, and speeds up to 21,000 RPM. We also stock Winco's stainless steel malt cups to keep your mixer running. No matter where you're located — an ice cream shop in Toronto, a diner in Mississauga, or right here in Vaughan — Phoenix Food Equipment gets milkshake and drink mixers to you across the GTA and nationwide across Canada.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions we hear from operators.

What's the difference between a wall-mounted and a countertop drink mixer?

A wall-mounted drink mixer, like Hamilton Beach's HMD300, bolts to the wall above a sink or counter, freeing up the entire counter surface below it — a real space-saver for a small ice cream window, milkshake bar, or tight service line. A countertop model, like the rest of our lineup, sits directly on the counter instead, which is the more common setup and makes it easier to move or reposition the mixer later if your layout changes. Both styles mix the same way once installed; the choice comes down to how much counter space you actually have to spare.

What's the difference between a cup-activated and a manual drink mixer?

Most of the mixers in this collection — Hamilton Beach's HMD200 and HMD300, and Waring's WDM series — are cup-activated: lift a filled cup up into the spindle and the motor starts automatically, so staff don't need to touch a switch mid-mix. Hamilton Beach's HMD1000 Heavy-Duty MixStation works differently — it's built as a manual mixer with a variable-speed dial and 6 pre-programmed cycles the operator sets directly, trading cup-activated convenience for more hands-on control over speed and mix time on a thick or dense batch. We carry both styles, so a high-volume counter running the same drink over and over and a kitchen mixing varied, denser batches can each get the setup that fits.

Do I need a drink mixer or a blender to make milkshakes?

A spindle drink mixer whips ice cream and milk together with a spinning metal agitator rather than pureeing them, which keeps mix-ins like cookie pieces or candy chunky and gives a shake that classic thick, malt-shop texture. A commercial blender fully purees everything, including ice, for a smoother, more uniform frozen drink — better suited to a fruit smoothie or a blended frozen cocktail than a diner-style shake. If milkshakes and malts are the main job, a dedicated drink mixer is the better fit and frees up your blender for everything else on the menu.
