Industrial Shelving

Commercial Industrial Shelving in Toronto & Canada

The Phoenix Heavy Duty Storage Rack Kit bundles four shelf layers and two frames into one complete unit, built for bulk backstock, dry storage, and walk-in shelving where weight capacity matters more than appearance. Need to expand an existing rack instead of a new kit? Our Phoenix line sells the Shelf Layer and Frame separately, so a rack run can grow one section at a time. These racks handle heavier loads than lighter stainless shelving is built for — bulk dry goods or overflow stock in a walk-in. We ship industrial shelving from Vaughan across the GTA — Toronto and Mississauga included — and the rest of Canada.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions we hear from operators.

What's included in a heavy duty storage rack kit, and can I buy parts separately?

The Phoenix Heavy Duty Storage Rack Kit includes everything needed for one complete unit — four shelf layers and two upright frames — so it's ready to assemble straight out of the box for a new storage area. If a rack is already in place and just needs to grow, the Shelf Layer and the Frame (the upright side panels) are both sold individually, which is the more economical route than buying a full second kit when only extra shelf space is needed. Buying components separately also makes sense when replacing a single damaged shelf or frame rather than the entire rack. Most kitchens start with one full kit and add individual shelf layers as storage needs grow over time.

How many shelf layers can I add to one storage rack frame?

A standard heavy duty storage rack frame is built to hold four shelf layers, which is the configuration the Phoenix Heavy Duty Storage Rack Kit ships with, but additional Shelf Layers can be added to the same frame as long as the frame's total height and rated capacity allow it. Spacing between shelves can also be adjusted up or down the frame's posts to fit taller items like stacked cases or bins, rather than being fixed at even intervals. Overloading a frame with more shelf layers than it's rated for is the most common mistake — checking the frame's total weight capacity before adding a fifth or sixth layer is worth the extra step.

What's the difference between industrial storage racks and standard shelving?

Industrial storage racks are built from heavier gauge steel and rated for higher weight loads than standard kitchen shelving, which makes them the right choice for bulk backstock, case goods, and dry storage rooms rather than a prep area or dish room. Standard stainless steel shelving, like a wall-mounted or free-standing 4-tier unit, is meant for lighter, more frequently accessed items near a workstation. Industrial racks trade some of that polish and prep-area convenience for raw capacity — a single shelf layer typically holds far more weight than a comparable stainless shelf. For a dry storage room or walk-in cooler holding cases of product, industrial racks are the more practical choice; for shelving near active prep, standard stainless wins on accessibility.
