Scrapers and brushes handle the cleanup a sponge can't, from burnt-on griddle grease to carbon in a pizza oven, and you'll want them at every close and any time a piece of equipment starts holding onto residue. Winco makes the Winco 14″ Heavy-Duty Aluminum Griddle Scraper, an NSF listed scraper with a 6″ blade, a splash guard, and a top grip built for pressing down on flat tops, and the Winco Replacement Blade For Griddle Scraper comes in a pack of 6. Pair the Winco Grill Brick with the Winco Griddle Brick Holder to keep your hands clear of the hot surface. For fryers, reach for the Winco L-shaped Fryer Brush; for coffee urns and tight spaces, the Winco 25" Coffee Urn Brush and Winco Kettle Valve Brush; and for pizza ovens, the Winco 27" Pizza Oven Scraper With Wooden Handle. Serving Vaughan and the wider GTA — including Toronto, Mississauga, Oakville, and Hamilton — Phoenix Food Equipment ships commercial cleaning brushes and scrapers nationwide across Canada.
Common questions we hear from operators.
Scrape food debris off with a griddle scraper while the surface is warm, then rub away burnt-on grease with a grill brick held in its holder, which keeps your hand away from the hot surface. Wipe the griddle down and follow your griddle manufacturer's instructions for final cleaning and seasoning. The Winco griddle scraper has a splash guard that helps collect debris, and its blades are replaceable when they wear down.
Let the oil cool, drain it, and follow your fryer manufacturer's cleaning instructions. A long brush makes the scrubbing easier: the Winco L-shaped Fryer Brush is 24 1/2" long, so you can reach the sides and corners of the tank without leaning over hot equipment. Rinse thoroughly and dry the tank completely before adding fresh oil.
A stiff brush works best on a wooden butcher block, and the Winco Butcher Block Brush With Steel Bristles has stiff steel wire bristles on a sturdy wooden handle. Because steel bristles are aggressive, keep it for wood and use a softer brush on plastic or composite boards. For pots and pans, the Winco Pot Brush With Nylon Bristles is a softer option, with a plastic handle and a 20" overall length.
