Commercial Walk-In Coolers & Freezers in Toronto & the GTA
Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions we hear from operators.
What's the difference between "Box & Door Only" and "With Refrigeration"?
Box & Door Only gives you the insulated wall panels and door, sized to your chosen footprint, without a refrigeration system — a good fit if you already have a compressor or want to source your own unit. The With Refrigeration option adds a self-contained, pre-charged refrigeration system sized to the box, available in 3/4, 1, 1.5, or 2 HP depending on room size, so it's ready to run once it's wired in. We can help you pick the right refrigeration size for your box, whichever option you choose.
What's the difference between a solid door and a glass door walk-in cooler?
A solid door walk-in cooler is built for back-of-house storage, keeping product out of sight and the box as well-insulated as possible. A glass door walk-in swaps 2, 3, or 4 sections of the wall for double-layer insulated glass doors instead, turning the same walk-in into a customer-facing display — the setup you'd see behind a convenience store or grocery beer cave. We carry both styles, so you can build a walk-in that's either pure storage or storage that doubles as a display.
What size walk-in cooler do I need?
Walk-in cooler sizing comes down to floor space and how much product you're storing. Our solid door boxes run from a compact 6x6 foot room up to a 10x10 foot room, all with 8-foot walls, which covers most restaurant, grocery, and foodservice backrooms. Since these are custom-built and installed on-site rather than shipped as a finished unit, we can also help size a larger custom footprint beyond our standard 6x6 to 10x10 range if your space calls for it.
