A fry basket lowers food into hot oil and lifts it out in one motion, so fries, wings, and other fried menu items cook evenly and drain quickly, and you'll want extra baskets whenever you're adding a fryer, matching a basket to a new fryer well, or setting up stations for specialty items like tacos and chimichangas. Winco's French Fry Basket comes in seven sizes, from 11" x 5 3/8" to 17" x 8 1/4", with one-piece non-welded construction and heat-resistant coated handles, and the French Fry Basket Divider splits a basket so you can fry small batches or keep items separate. For Tex-Mex menus, the Taco Basket holds eight 6" tacos, and the FB-03 Chimichanga/Burrito Fry Basket is made from 8/18 stainless steel with front and side hooks. Bakeries can turn to the Nickel Plated Doughnut Basket, sized 12" x 18" x 2". Whether you're outfitting a fast-casual kitchen, a taqueria, or a doughnut shop in Toronto, the GTA, Vaughan, or anywhere else across Canada, Phoenix Food Equipment gets you the fry baskets and fry tools you need.
Common questions we hear from operators.
Match the basket to your fryer well, not the other way around. Measure the inside length and width of the frypot, then pick a basket that leaves a little clearance so it lifts out freely. Winco's fry basket is offered in seven sizes, from the FB-05 at 11" x 5 3/8" up to the FB-40 at 17" x 8 1/4", so there's a fit for a countertop single-well fryer and for a larger floor model. The divider fits the FB-10, FB-25, and FB-30. Still choosing the fryer? Browse our deep fryers first.
Let the oil cool, lift the basket out, and let the excess oil drain. Then soak it in hot, soapy water with a degreaser to loosen baked-on grease, scrub with a non-abrasive brush, rinse, and dry it completely. Drying matters because Winco's baskets are nickel plated, and water left on the wire can cause spotting or rust over time. Check the coated handles for cracks, and replace a basket whose frame or coating has worn through. For dredging and draining chicken or fish before it hits the fryer, the Medium Mesh Breading Basket is a 12" plastic-coated wire mesh basket.
Specialty baskets hold shaped food in the oil so it cooks evenly and comes out uniform. Winco's Taco Basket holds eight 6" tacos at a time, the FB-03 is built for wrapped items like chimichangas and burritos, and the Round Taco Salad Bowl Fry Basket is made for shaping taco salad bowls. A Fry Basket Press With 11" Handle helps keep food submerged in the oil, and the French Fry Bagger With Handle speeds up scooping fries into bags on a busy line.
