Commercial Shawarma & Doner Broilers in Toronto & Canada

Our Shawarma & Doner Broilers collection covers everything needed to build a shawarma, doner, or gyro station, from the vertical broiler itself to the skewers, motors, and kebab knives that keep it running. Gas broilers from Alpha, Axis, and Potis run on natural gas or propane across 3-, 4-, and 5-burner sizes, while Potis and Autodoner build electric versions for kitchens without a gas line, including Autodoner's compact 3PEM mini broiler for a smaller counter footprint. Round out the station with an Omcan or UYAR electric kebab knife for slicing, plus Potis's own stainless steel skewers, spit beds, and propane conversion kits for keeping an existing broiler running. Whether you're outfitting a shawarma, doner, or gyro spot in Toronto, a kebab counter in Mississauga, or a Middle Eastern, Mediterranean, or Greek restaurant right here in Vaughan, Phoenix Food Equipment ships shawarma, doner, and gyro broilers across the GTA — Markham and Brampton included — and nationwide across Canada.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions we hear from operators.

How many burners does a shawarma or doner broiler need?

Burner count comes down to how much meat you're cooking through at once. A 3-burner broiler like the Alpha ADB-3 or Axis AX-VB3 suits a smaller shawarma counter or a spot just adding the item to its menu, a 4-burner model covers most mid-volume restaurants, and Potis's RS-MU-GD5 steps up to 5 burners for a busy kebab shop running a large cone through service. Gas burner count also roughly tracks the size of cone the broiler can hold, so a bigger burner count usually means more capacity, not just more heat.

Is a shawarma broiler the same thing as a doner or gyro broiler?

Yes — shawarma, doner, and gyro all describe the same vertical rotisserie cooking style under different regional names: shawarma from Middle Eastern cuisine, doner kebab from Turkish and German cuisine, and gyro from Greek cuisine — and the broiler that cooks them is the same piece of equipment either way. That's why most manufacturers, including Potis and Alpha, sell their broilers under a combined “shawarma/doner broiler” name rather than splitting them into separate product lines by cuisine. What actually varies is gas versus electric and burner count, not the cuisine the broiler is built for.

What accessories does a shawarma or doner broiler need?

Beyond the broiler itself, a working shawarma station needs a few consumable and replacement parts: stainless steel skewers and a spit bed to hold the cone, a motor and gear assembly to keep it rotating, and an electric kebab knife from UYAR or Omcan for slicing meat off cleanly to order. If you're running a gas broiler on propane instead of natural gas, a propane conversion kit is worth having on hand too — Potis sells one sized for its own RS-MU-GD Series broilers.
