Commercial Under Counter Freezers in Toronto & Canada
Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions we hear from operators.
What's the difference between an under counter refrigerator and an under counter freezer?
An under counter refrigerator holds product between 34°F and 41°F (1°C to 5°C), suited to fresh ingredients used the same day. An under counter freezer holds 0°F (-18°C) or colder instead, built for frozen meats, prepped items, and other product that needs to stay solid until it's needed. We carry both side by side from Nordic Air, Atosa, Traulsen, and True Refrigeration, so you can outfit the same run of counter with whichever temperature each station actually needs.
What is a two-drawer under counter freezer?
A two-drawer under counter freezer combines a standard top section with two pull-out drawers below it, giving you both shelf storage and grab-and-go drawer access in one footprint — useful when floor space is tight but you still need to keep different frozen products separated. Our Atosa MGF8420GR is a 27-inch two-drawer model built this way. We stock it alongside our full range of standard single and double-door under counter freezers.
What's the difference between a freezer work table and a plain under counter freezer?
A freezer work table adds a full flat stainless top that doubles as extra prep surface, on top of the under-counter frozen storage — our Traulsen Centerline and most of the True Refrigeration side-mounted lineup are built this way. A plain under counter freezer, like our Traulsen ULT Series, skips the extended work surface and is sized to tuck fully beneath an existing counter instead, without adding a usable top. We carry both styles, so you can decide whether you need the extra counter space or just the frozen storage.
