Reach-In Freezers

Commercial Reach-In Freezers in the GTA & Canada

Below-zero storage behind the line needs a freezer that can handle the pace of a busy kitchen, and our Reach-In Freezers collection covers the solid-door units built for exactly that job. Pick a single, double, or triple door freezer sized to your space — from an 18-inch slim single-door unit up to an 82-inch triple-door model that holds a full day's frozen inventory. Most of our lineup is Nordic Air, our proprietary line and a reliable, budget-friendly choice for restaurants, cafes, and delis, alongside Atosa reach-in freezers — including a hybrid model with a top door and two drawers — for more configuration options. For a premium build, we also carry Traulsen and True Refrigeration commercial freezers, both known for tighter temperature control and a longer service life. Need cold storage instead? Our Reach-In Refrigerators collection covers the same door configurations built above freezing. Every unit here is NSF-certified stainless steel, built to handle a busy line. Whether you're outfitting a kitchen in Toronto, Mississauga, or Hamilton, right here in Vaughan, or anywhere else across the GTA and Canada, we ship reach-in freezers fast.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions from operators buying this kind of equipment.

What's the difference between a reach-in freezer and a reach-in refrigerator?

A reach-in freezer holds product at 0°F (-18°C) or colder, built for frozen meats, prepped items, and other frozen goods that need to stay solid. A Reach-In Refrigerators unit holds product between 34°F and 41°F (1°C to 5°C) instead, suited to fresh ingredients and daily prep work. Using the wrong one for the job either freezes what should stay fresh or lets frozen product start to thaw. Read our blog on the right temperature range for commercial refrigeration and freezers. Phoenix Food Equipment carries both reach-in freezers and reach-in refrigerators side by side, from the same lineup of brands.

What's the difference between a top mount and bottom mount reach-in freezer?

A top mount reach-in freezer has its compressor built into the top of the cabinet, keeping the mechanical parts up and away from spills, mopping, and hose-downs. A bottom mount unit has the compressor underneath instead, which lowers the unit's center of gravity and gives a technician more room to service it without needing extra clearance above the cabinet. Both freeze just as effectively — the choice usually comes down to kitchen layout and how much room you have overhead. Phoenix Food Equipment carries both top mount and bottom mount reach-in freezers across our Nordic Air, Atosa, and Traulsen lines.

What is a hybrid reach-in freezer with drawers?

A hybrid reach-in freezer combines a standard top door with two drawers below it, giving you both full-shelf storage and grab-and-go drawer access in one footprint — useful when floor space is tight but you still need to keep different products separated. Our Atosa MBF8021GR is a 29-inch hybrid model built this way, sized between a standard single and double-door unit. Phoenix Food Equipment stocks it alongside our full range of standard single, double, and triple door reach-in freezers.
