What are the different types of restaurant table bases?

The main styles are T bases, 4 prong bases, round bases, square bases, and double bases. A T base is a narrow base meant to be used in pairs under a long rectangular top, like the Tarrison Core Collection All-Weather 22" T-Table Base. A 4 prong base spreads four feet under a square or rectangular top, and the Phoenix 4 Prong Table Base comes in sizes from 22" x 22" to 30" x 30". How do you attach a table top to a base?

Flip the top upside down on a soft surface, centre the base on the underside, and mark the mounting holes. Use screws that won't poke through the top: the Phoenix tops are 1.5" thick and the Tarrison thermofoil top is 1.25" thick. The Tarrison tops come with T-nuts, so you can bolt the base on instead of screwing into the board. Make sure the base is centred so the table doesn't tip when someone leans on an edge, then stand it up and level it with the adjustable feet or glides.
