View full detailsFrom a fully automatic bean-to-cup machine to a traditional lever-pulled group head, our Espresso Machines collection covers how your team actually pulls a shot. Jura's fully automatic machines grind, brew, and often froth milk at the push of a button, scaling from countertop residential models up to true commercial units like the W8 and GIGA X8 built for higher daily volume. For a hands-on approach, La Marzocco, Ascaso, and Casadio supply traditional semi-automatic machines in one, two, three, and four-group configurations, so a barista controls the shot and steam wand directly. Round out the bar with a Rhino tamper, pitcher, and knock box, plus Cafetto and Urnex descalers and cleaning tablets to keep every machine running well. A few residential-grade Jura and KitchenAid machines are also available for a smaller office or breakroom setup. Serving Vaughan and the wider GTA — including Toronto, Mississauga, Markham, and Hamilton — Phoenix Food Equipment ships espresso machines nationwide across Canada.
Common questions from operators buying this kind of equipment.
A semi-automatic espresso machine, like our La Marzocco, Ascaso, Casadio, and Astoria lines, needs a barista to grind and dose the coffee, lock in the portafilter, start the shot, and steam the milk by hand — it gives full control over every step, which is why most specialty cafes and trained baristas prefer it. A fully automatic machine, like Jura's lineup, grinds fresh beans, brews the shot, and often froths milk automatically at the push of a button, so a less experienced staff member can still pull a consistent drink every time. Phoenix Food Equipment carries both, so you can match the machine to whether you want barista-driven control or hands-off consistency.
Group head count determines how many shots you can pull at once, and it scales with how many drinks you're actually serving during a rush. A one or two-group machine, like Ascaso's BABY-T-PLUS or La Marzocco's two-group Classic and Strada lines, comfortably handles roughly 25 to 80 drinks an hour with one barista — enough for a small cafe or a slower service window. Step up to a three or four-group machine, like Astoria's Plus4You or La Marzocco's three and four-group configurations, and two or three baristas working together can push well past 100 drinks an hour for a busy coffee bar or high-volume cafe. Matching group count to your actual rush avoids a bottleneck at the machine during your busiest hour.
Each targets a different part of your espresso setup. A descaler, like Cafetto's Organic Liquid Descaler, dissolves the mineral scale that builds up inside the machine's boiler and lines from hard water, which left untreated can clog the machine and throw off water temperature. A machine cleaner, like Cafetto's Espresso Machine Cleaner or Urnex's Cafiza powder and tablets, backflushes through the group head and portafilter basket to strip out coffee oils and residue that build up with daily use. A grinder cleaner, like Urnex's Grindz tablets, runs through the grinder burrs themselves to clear out stale coffee oil that can turn a fresh grind bitter or rancid-tasting. Running all three on their own schedule keeps water quality, shot flavor, and grind quality from drifting over time.
