    A Wide Low-Profile Display for Front-of-House Selling

The Omcan 48272 is a 48" open air refrigerator that stands just 59" tall, making it easy to place in front of a counter, along a checkout aisle or in the middle of a dining area. Its 15.04 cu. ft. (426 L) of capacity gives cafeterias, food courts and convenience stores a wide, inviting self-serve display for drinks, salads and sandwiches.

Black Finish With Clear Glass Sides

A black exterior gives the case a modern look, while double tempered glass side panels let customers see product from every angle. Internal LED lighting on both front sides brightens the shelves so packaging and fresh food look their best throughout the day.

    Reliable Cooling and Simple Controls

A ventilated cooling system with automatic defrost keeps air moving evenly across all three shelves, and condensate evaporates automatically, so there is no drain pan to empty. Eco-friendly R290 refrigerant provides efficient cooling with a lower environmental impact. The digital controller and display hold product within 2°C to 10°C (35.6°F to 50°F).

    Flexible Shelving and Easy Mobility

Its wide, low profile keeps the dining room or service counter visible behind it, which makes it a strong choice for open-concept layouts. Three adjustable shelves let you set the layout around bottles, clamshells and wrapped sandwiches, and four casters, two with brakes, make the unit easy to move for cleaning and lock in place for service.

    Plug-and-Play Installation With Strong Coverage

The 48272 runs on standard 110V power with a NEMA 5-20P plug, so it can go to work as soon as it arrives. It is cETLus and ETL Sanitation certified and backed by 2 years parts and labour plus 5 years compressor coverage, giving you confidence in a unit that runs every hour your doors are open. Questions

    Frequently Asked Questions

    Common questions from operators.

What makes the Omcan 48272 better than a glass door merchandiser?

An open air refrigerator removes the door between your customer and the product. Shoppers can see and grab items in one motion, which speeds up lines and typically lifts impulse sales of drinks, salads and sandwiches compared with a glass door cooler. The 48272 pairs that open front with 15.04 cu. ft. (426 L) of display space, ventilated cooling and bright LED lighting, so you get self-serve convenience without giving up temperature control.

What type of business is the Omcan 48272 best suited for?

The 48272 is ideal for cafeterias, food courts and convenience stores that want a wide, low display in front of a counter or along an aisle.

Where should an open air refrigerator be installed?

Open air cases hold temperature best away from direct sunlight, entrance doors, heat-producing equipment and strong HVAC drafts, which can pull cold air out of the open front. Leave the ventilation clearances listed in the product manual, keep product below the load line, and avoid overloading shelves so cold air can circulate freely.
