Winholt Proofer & Heated Holding Cabinets in Toronto & Canada

Brothers Irving and Mannie Holtz founded Winholt in 1946, and the family led company is still based in Woodbury, New York, with manufacturing across the USA. Winholt makes heater proofer cabinets, racks, carts, shelving, and stainless steel equipment for bakeries, caterers, and restaurants. Why choose Winholt over a holding cabinet brand like Metro? Winholt has built transport and holding equipment for nearly 80 years, and its cabinets combine a light aluminum body with a proofer mode and a heated holding mode in one unit. Winholt power equipment carries a 1 year parts and labour warranty through the manufacturer. One standout is the Winholt INHPL-1836C-CD Insulated Proofer and Heated Holding Cabinet. It holds 35 full size sheet pans, lets you set humidity from 35% to 95%, and its fully insulated door and body save up to 30% on energy. We also carry the compact Winholt NHPL-1810HHC Under Counter Proofer Cabinet. Every model is quick ship and usually goes out within 1-2 business days. Phoenix Food Equipment ships Winholt from Vaughan across Toronto, the GTA, and the rest of Canada and the USA.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions we hear from operators.

What is the warranty on Winholt products?

Winholt's warranty goes through the manufacturer. The proofer and heated holding cabinets we carry come with a 1 year parts and labour warranty, and Winholt also guarantees its aluminum and stainless steel against rust and corrosion for the original buyer. Glass, plastic, bulbs, gaskets, and heater elements aren't covered. We can assist with any brand that isn't in-house, so if you have any questions, or your cabinet arrives defective, damaged, or not what you ordered, contact us at sales@phoenixfe.ca or 1-833-669-8003.

Where are Winholt products made?

Winholt is based in Woodbury, New York, and describes itself as a USA manufacturer with plants in Pennsylvania, Texas, and California. The cabinets we carry are ETL certified. For a specific model, contact us with the model number and we'll confirm it before you order.

Should I choose an insulated or non-insulated proofer cabinet?

An insulated cabinet, like the INHPL-1836C-CD, holds heat better, and Winholt says it saves up to 30% on energy, which suits all day holding. A non-insulated cabinet, like the NHPL-1836C-CD, is lighter and works well for shorter proofing and holding cycles. Both proof down to 80°F and hold up to 180°F. If you're not sure which cabinet fits your kitchen, contact us and we'll help you compare options.
