Somerset Dough Sheeters, Dough Presses & Bakery Equipment in Toronto & Canada

Since 1946, Somerset Industries has designed and built professional bakery equipment in Massachusetts, and all of its equipment is made in the USA. Its range includes dough sheeters, dough moulders, dough rounders, tortilla and pizza presses, and pastry forming machines. Why choose Somerset over a brand like Doyon? Somerset focuses on dough processing, its sheeters use synthetic non-stick rollers with sealed, permanently lubricated bearings and a maintenance free drive, and it backs its machines with a 1 year parts and labour warranty through the manufacturer. One standout is the Somerset SEP-790 Automatic Tortilla Dough Press. Its dual heated platens press dough up to 14 inches wide and turn out up to 1,000 tortillas, roti, or flatbreads an hour. We also carry the Somerset SPM-45 Pastry & Turnover Forming Machine, which folds, crimps, trims, and seals empanadas, patties, and perogies in one step, plus the CDR dough sheeters. Somerset equipment is typically special order with an estimated lead time of 1-4 weeks. Phoenix Food Equipment ships Somerset from Vaughan across Toronto, the GTA, and the rest of Canada and the USA.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions we hear from operators.

What is the warranty on Somerset products?

Somerset's warranty goes through the manufacturer. The Somerset sheeters, presses, moulders, and rounders we carry come with a 1 year parts and labour warranty, and the SMS-60 meat shredder and SPM-45 pastry machine carry a 1 year warranty. We can assist with any brand that isn't in-house, so if you have any questions, or your equipment arrives defective, damaged, or not what you ordered, contact us at sales@phoenixfe.ca or 1-833-669-8003.

Where are Somerset products made?

Somerset products are made in the USA. Somerset Industries has designed and built professional bakery equipment in Massachusetts since 1946. The sheeters, presses, moulders, and rounders we carry are ETL and NSF certified. If you have questions about a specific model, contact us with the model number and we'll help.

What's the difference between a single pass and double pass dough sheeter?

A single pass sheeter like the CDR-500 has one set of rollers, so you run the dough through, adjust the thickness, and run it again. A double pass sheeter like the CDR-2000 has two sets of rollers, so the dough is sheeted twice in one pass with a larger front load hopper, which saves time on pizza and pastry dough. Somerset offers rollers from 10 to 30 inches. If you're not sure which fits your kitchen, contact us and we'll help you compare options.
