Refrigeration is the only equipment in your kitchen that runs 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. When it fails, you lose food, money and sometimes a full service. That's why reliability matters, and why we recommend Traulsen is the option for busy kitchens.
What Makes Traulsen Stand Out?
Every Traulsen unit is hand-assembled in the USA. A few features carry across the entire lineup:
- A 6 year parts and labour warranty, plus 7 years on the compressor. This covers all Traulsen and Centerline by Traulsen products, including units sold here in Canada. This is a huge benefit to restaurants that are thinking long-term. Labour costs for repairs can rack up quickly, so this gives operators long-term security.
- EZ-Clean door gaskets. Standard PVC gaskets hide dirt in their folds and break down quickly when you wipe them with cleaner. The grooves make cleaning difficult, and workers tend to use sharps knives or forks to get and the dirt out, which can cause rips and tears over time. Traulsen's snap-in EZ-Clean gaskets are safe to sanitize, show dirt easily so you know where to clean, and can last up to four times longer. They come standard on every Traulsen unit.
- Front-facing condenser coils. Keeping the condenser coil clean is the most important maintenance job on any fridge. Traulsen has a front-facing condenser on their units, which make them easy to access for cleaning. If you want the full routine, our guide to commercial refrigeration maintenance walks through it step-by-step.
- Protected airflow. A fully loaded shelf can choke off the cold air, leaving you with warm spots. Traulsen’s rear-mounted air duct protects the airflow so temperatures stay consistent, even on a Friday night when the shelves are packed.

C-Series: The Good Option
The C-Series is Traulsen's affordable line sold under the Centerline by Traulsen name. It's built for operators who want a reliable reach-in from a trusted brand without paying for features they likely won’t use. All 30 CLBM upright models are ENERGY STAR® listed, and they run on R290, an environmentally friendly hydrocarbon refrigerant.
The bottom-mounted system makes the condenser easy to reach for cleaning and leaves the top of the unit free for storage. A rear air duct keeps cold air moving around the cabinet, and it still lets you slide in a full 18" x 26" sheet pan. Recessed handles keep the doors from sticking out into your aisle, self-closing doors have a stay-open feature for loading, and single-door models have doors that can reverse direction on-site. Every C-Series reach-in ships with three shelves per section and 4" locking casters.
The C-Series also covers your prep line. The CLPT sandwich prep tables come in standard and mega top versions. They have the added bonus of holding 6" deep pans instead of the standard 4” pans, which gives you 50% more storage capacity. They also require zero clearance on the sides and back, so they can fit tight against a wall or another unit. The CLUC undercounters come in 27" to 72" widths, with doors, drawers or worktop options.

Popular models include the Traulsen Centerline CLBM-23R-FS-R single-door refrigerator , the CLUC-48R 48" undercounter refrigerated work table, and the CLPT-3615 36" mega top prep table.
G-Series: The Better Option
The G-Series is what Traulsen is known for in the industry. The biggest difference is the top-mounted refrigeration system. Sitting above the cabinet, it stays away from the flour, grease and mop water on your kitchen floor, so the coil stays cleaner for longer and the compressor doesn't have to work as hard. This means longer lasting components and a unit that will keep up for many years. We know customers who have Traulsen units that are over 20 years old and still holding up in their kitchen.
Inside, the G-Series uses a clockwise airflow pattern instead of the back-to-front pattern found on most bottom-mounted units. This means a more consistent cabinet temperature in kitchens where the door opens hundreds of times a day. On a standard unit with back-to-front airflow, when an employee opens the door, all the cold air rushes out of the cabinet, meaning the unit now needs to get back up to temp all over again. With a clockwise pattern, the air doesn’t rush out of the cabinet when the door opens, which results in a much more stable temperature, and less pressure on the compressor throughout the day. A thermostatic expansion valve (TXV) helps the cabinet recover quickly after each opening, so your food spends more time in the safe zone. These two features together mean extremely consistent temperatures, even in busy kitchens where the door is opened all day, every day.

The G-Series comes in one, two and three-section reach-ins with solid or glass doors, plus pass-thru models that let your line load from the back while servers pull from the front. Most core models are ENERGY STAR listed. G-Series freezers can run as low as -23°C (-10°F), which is helpful for ice cream and long-term frozen storage.

This is why Traulsen is our recommended premium refrigeration brand. The quality and value they offer just can’t be beat in Canada.
Popular models include the Traulsen G10010 single-door refrigerator, the G20010 two-door refrigerator, and the G22010 two-door freezer.
R-Series: The Best Option
The R-Series is Traulsen's premium spec line where every unit is made-to-order. It has the largest selection of any Traulsen series: reach-ins, pass-thrus, roll-ins and roll-thrus for banquet carts, hot food holding cabinets and fully custom builds. Traulsen's Smart Control system monitors the unit, adjusts to how your kitchen uses it and flags problems with a dedicated alarm light. This is extremely helpful for very large, busy kitchens where monitoring each and every piece of equipment is difficult.

The R-Series makes sense for hospitals, hotels, banquet halls and chains that need specific requirements from their equipment. We don't display R-Series units on our site, but our team can quote and order any configuration for you. Contact us for a customized quote.
Which Traulsen Series Is Right for Your Kitchen?
- Choose the C-Series if you're working with a tighter budget, running a light to mid-volume kitchen, or need a replacement unit quickly.
- Choose the G-Series if your kitchen is busy, your doors are always opening, or you need a three-door, glass door or pass-thru model.
- Choose the R-Series if you need roll-ins, hot food holding or a unit built to a specific spec.
If Traulsen is above your budget, our own Duracold and Nordic Air lines are a strong value option at a lower price-point.
